Women in the Labor Market on Osvrt

On Wednesday, 08.06.2017. Karmela Šegvić was a guest in the TV show Osvrt on TV Adriatic. The show often deals with various social problems and all forms of discrimination of all social groups in a subordinate position. This time, the topic was gender inequality in the labor market.


Tripal days in Sinj


On Friday 02.06.2017. “Tripoli Days” were held in Sinj, which this year were primarily concerned with an open society. As part of the event, a book was also presented: “Miko Tripalo: Open Society.” For the first time the book presents the manuscript legacy of Tripal's notes to the public with a book of same name by Karlo Popper. After the presentation of the book, a symposium was held under the name “Open Society” where, along with numerous participants, Karmela Šegvić from the Domine association participated.

The meeting of the executive board of the LPE


On Monday, 05.29, on the premises of the association CEDRA was a meeting of the Local Partnerships for Employment of Split-Dalmatia County, which is a member of the Association of Domine. The meeting was held with a view to an agreement of project activities and cooperation in accordance with the open competition ''Local Employment Development Initiatives-phase III.” Given the knowledge of the extension of the deadline of the competition, the next meeting is scheduled in two weeks during which all associations interested in cooperation should come up with proposals for activities that would be performed in the context of this project.

After local elections - less and less women in politics


On Sunday, May 22, local elections were held for representatives and citizens' representatives in city and municipal councils and county assemblies, as well as for mayors, prefects and their deputies. The specificity of these local elections is that the State Election Commission has for the first time emphasized the obligation of the parties to respect the so-called "Female" or "gender" quotas and impose prescribed penalties on the basis of the Gender Equality Act for lists that do not adhere to the recommended 40% quota.
